The $80 million, forty building comprehensive modernization of a historic public housing complex. The original 1,000 dwelling units are reduced to 680 units with an increased number of bedrooms and larger living spaces.

The new portals, gates and porches employ brightly colored tiles in patterns that echo traditional African textile designs. These, along with the glass and tern-coated metal en-trance ways, are intended to give the building a new identity, as well as be symbolic of the entire estate’s modernization.
